Project Description

The East Link Seattle to South Bellevue segment will expand the light rail system from downtown Seattle to South Bellevue. The light rail will be built on Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) roadways and bridges along I-90, including three bridges across Lake Washington: the East Channel Bridge and the East and West Approaches to the Homer Hadley Memorial Floating Bridge; and two bridge overpasses: the Rainier Avenue Bridge and the D2 Viaduct. New structures will consist of two stations: the Rainier Avenue Station and the Mercer Island Station; and four traction power sub-stations.

Scope of Work

SCL provided quality assurance consulting services for Sound Transit Contract No. RTA/AE 0073-12 task 11 in two phases. Our work included creating the East Link Final Design Quality Manual, conducting QA audits at key stages, implementing QC checks for design packages, coordinating interdisciplinary check prints, and verifying design review comment resolution. We ensured high standards and compliance throughout the project.
