Project Description

Located on the K Line, currently under service testing, the Airport Metro Connector will consist of a light rail station, bus plaza, bicycle parking, customer service center, passenger pick-up and drop-off area, and direct connection to the future LAX Automated People Mover (APM) to provide more options for travelers and employees to get to the airport.

Once in operation, this new station, known as the LAX/Metro Transit Center station, will allow riders to transfer quickly and easily between LAX and Metro’s network. This project is expected to open for service in 2024.

Scope of Work

SCL is tasked to conduct systematically scheduled, risk-based quality assessments for the Airport Metro Connector and Automated People Mover projects. Our Quality Assessor verifies the projects compliance against the owner’s internal quality requirements and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) guidelines. Our Quality Assessor also attends progress project meetings, supports the Lead Quality Assessor with requirements management, and training of project staff.
