Project Description

King County engineers are leading the design and construction to replace two existing soft start motors with variable frequency drives at the 63rd Avenue Pump Station. The work will replace all electrical equipment; standard MCCs will be replaced with SMART MCCs, more controllers will be added, and the control instrumentation will be improved by adding new LEL equipment and modifying the PLC Program to operate the pumps.

Scope of Work

SCL provided a detailed Class 3 estimate based on the drawings, specifications and verifiable quotes from vendors and supplies. The estimate will also take the cost of removal and replacement of overhead conduits to make room for the equipment installation into consideration. The removal includes, replacing the existing pump station, electrical and control, the Primary Electrical Feeders in existing conduit, the main incoming switchboard compartments including metering and monitoring, Motor Control Center Equipment, 3 Variable Frequency Drive Units, select feeders to equipment, Lighting fixtures, HVAC Equipment and associated controls, Main Motor Control Panel refitting, and select field mounted control sensors, transmitter, and other control devices. In addition, replacements of other control panels per the drawings were included as well.
